Photosol and Neoen emerge as leading winners in French solar tender

Rubis Photosol and Neoen SA are the leading winners, with allocated capacities of 257 MWp and 221.6 MWp respectively, in the recent tender for ground-mounted solar power plants in France. The total tendered capacity was 1,519 MWp which was a slight increase from the earlier announced 1,500 MWp. Meanwhile, a total of 129 projects have been allocated by the government in this fourth-period tender for ground-mounted photovoltaic installations.

Ørsted bags contracts for 124 MW of wind and solar in Irish auction

Ørsted, a Danish renewables company, has won contracts for an 81 MW solar farm and a 43.2 MW wind farm in the Irish government’s third onshore Renewable Electricity Support Scheme (RESS 3) auction. Reportedly, the provisional results of the auction awarded 24 onshore wind and solar project contracts totaling 646 MW at an average strike price of $106.55 per MWh.

SUSI Partners wins debt financing for 107 MW of DG solar in Chile

SUSI Partners, a Swiss funds management firm, has secured debt financing for a 107 MW portfolio of solar distributed generation (DG) projects in Chile. Reportedly, the firm, working on behalf of its SUSI Energy Transition Fund (SETF), acquired an undisclosed amount of funds from the Miami branch of Chilean bank Banco de Credito e Inversiones (BCI) and Norwegian financial services group DNB.

VSB obtains €211 million financing to repower Elsterwind farm   

VSB has secured €211 million in project financing from Landesbank Baden-Württemberg (LBBW) and Deutsche Zentral-Genossenschaftsbank (DZ Bank) to repower the Elster wind farm. €175 million of the €211 million loan has been financed on a long-term basis with a maturity of more than 20 years. Reportedly, the original Elster wind farm began operations in 2000 with a capacity of 30 MW.

Dominion’s Coastal Virginia project completes environmental review

The US Bureau of Ocean Energy Management has finished the environmental analysis for Dominion Energy’s 2.6 GW Coastal Virginia Wind project and will issue a notice of availability for the final environmental impact statement (EIS) in the coming days. Reportedly, the company revealed plans to offload a non-controlling interest in the scheme in order to de-risk it.

Masdar and PLN finalise expansion of Cirata floating solar park

Masdar, an Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company, has finalised a deal with Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) for a 500 MW expansion of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations floating solar plant. The agreement covers Phase II of the Cirata project in West Java, Indonesia, which is projected to achieve 145 MW of capacity in 2023.

Galp and Mitsui plan to invest $638 million in biofuels and green hydrogen

Galp, a Portuguese energy company, has planned to partner with Mitsui to produce renewable diesel and sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) biofuels. Reportedly, the joint venture includes an investment of approximately $691 million in two industrial-scale projects: a 270-kilo-tonne per year advanced biofuels unit and 100 MW of electrolysers for the production of green hydrogen.

Oman to build 2,000 km of hydrogen pipelines

Oman intends to construct hydrogen pipelines across the country to help the Sultanate’s green hydrogen targets. The network is scheduled to have 2,000 km of pipelines which will initially supply green hydrogen to three industrial zones which are Duqm, Al-Jazir and Salalah, and is being built by Hydrom.
