RWE to acquire 1.4 GW Dutch ‘hydrogen-ready’ power plant

RWE, a German energy company, has agreed to acquire the 1.4 GW Magnum gas-fired power plant in the Netherlands from Vattenfall for $534 million. Magnum has been in operation since 2013 at Eemshaven, in the Dutch province of Groningen. Reportedly, the power plant is ‘hydrogen-ready,’ which means it can run on hydrogen partially or completely.

SSE and Brookfield Renewable partner for Dutch offshore wind bids

SSE Renewables and Brookfield Asset Management, a Canadian investment business, have joined forces to bid for the Hollandse Kust (west) offshore wind farm zone, which is currently under construction in the Netherlands. The Hollandse Kust (west) zones, which are about 53 km from the Dutch coast, are being auctioned for the development of two individual sites, each with a capacity of 700 MW.
