Fluence Energy, a supplier of energy storage services, has finished a 570 MW energy storage portfolio in the Philippines.  The battery-based energy storage portfolio has been given to SMC Global Power (SMCGP), a division of the Philippines-based company San Miguel Corporation. The portfolio’s completion was announced at the opening ceremony of SMCGP’s 1 GW/1 GWh battery energy storage fleet in the country.

LG Energy Solution to build $5.5 billion battery manufacturing complex in US

LG Energy Solution, a South Korean provider of energy solutions, has announced plans to invest $5.5 billion in the construction of a new battery manufacturing plant in the US. The manufacturing facility, which will be built in Queen Creek, Arizona, will be the largest investment ever done in a standalone battery manufacturing facility in North America. It will have two facilities: one for producing cylindrical batteries for electric vehicles and the other to manufacture pouch-type lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries for energy storage systems (ESS).

Wärtsilä will supply advanced energy storage solutions with a total capacity of 200 MW to Able Grid Energy Solutions. This will entail two interconnected stand-alone systems, Madero and Ignacio, in southern Texas in United States. The energy storage systems will be supplied to Able Grid Energy Solutions, Inc. (“Able Grid”) as per an order placed by the company in February 2021.
