Revkor Energy Holdings Inc., a US-based company, and H2 Gemini Technology Consulting GmbH, a German supplier of industrial equipment, have announced plans to construct a solar cell and module plant in Salt Lake City, Utah, the US. The objective of the collaboration is to promote perovskite, graphene, plastic recycling, and innovative tire vulcanisation techniques using its production and research facility in Utah.

The equipment needed to manufacture HJTs and perovskites together with administration services for the HJT production lines, delivery, and IP technology transfer will be provided by H2 Gemini.

Revkor is participating in a number of financial initiatives that are a part of the CHIPS Act, Department of Energy’s loan guarantee programme, and the Inflation Reduction Act. The Governor’s office and the Department of Economic Development in Salt Lake City, Utah, have also been approached for financial assistance.

According to the official statement, with a planned capacity of 20 GW by 2026, the two companies will work together to build high-efficiency HJT PV cell and module production across several project locations. Building a 5 GW yearly manufacturing plant will be the primary emphasis of the project’s first phase, with production expected to start in the second quarter of 2024. A production facility covering one million square feet is already being built by the partners and the construction of a research centre, a second 1 million square foot building inside the manufacturing complex, is also anticipated.
