Sonnenstromfabrik, a German PV module manufacturer, has revealed that its glass-film and glass-glass solar modules would feature half-cell technology and big wafers sized at 182 mm. The product launch is planned for the first quarter of 2021, while prices and products sheets should be available by the end of September, 2021.

The smallest of the three-module series provides full black items with a maximum output of 350 W and a size of 1,560 × 1,145 mm. A Full Black & Smart module series with dimensions of 1,745 x 1,145 mm and a power output of up to 400 W will also be available from Sonnenfabrik. Glass-back sheet and glass-glass solar modules are offered in both series. The smaller solar modules are intended for use in the residential and commercial PV rooftop market, while the most powerful are more suitable for ground-mounted PV projects.

According to the statement, orders can be placed in October, 2021. The first deliveries are expected to begin in January, 2021. In addition to the new series, the manufacturer’s Wismar facility will continue to produce the “Solrif” module series. A portion of the capacity of the old module series will be set aside, in the long run, to ensure supply for replacement in older PV systems. Sonnenstromfabrik has already invested in the automation of new manufacturing facilities at its Wismar plant.
