Vestas, a manufacturer of Danish wind turbines, has been awarded an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract for two wind farms in Finland that Neoen and Prokon will own jointly. The combined output of the Lumivaara and Storbötet wind farms will be 161 MW. The 17 Vestas V162-6.2MW turbines that make up the 105 MW Storbötet wind farm will be situated in the municipality of Uusikaarlepyy.

The Lumivaara wind farm, located in the municipality of Hyrynsalmi, will be powered by nine V162-6.2MW turbines. Additionally, Vestas will provide its 20-year active output management 5000 service, a package for maintaining wind farms. The company will start delivering turbines in the third quarter of 2024. In 2025, both wind farms will be fully operational.

In April 2023, Vestas received a 238 MW wind turbine supply contract from Hibiki Wind Energy for its Kitakyushu-Hibikinada offshore wind farm project in Japan. The offshore facility, which is right next to Kitakyushu city in Fukuoka Prefecture, would be equipped with 25 Vestas V174-9.5 MW wind turbines, which are the strongest in use in Japan. The commissioning of the wind turbines is planned for 2025.
