Siemens Gamesa to launch new SG 4.7-155 turbine targeting low wind sites

SGRE has added a new turbine to its 4.X platform, the SG 4.7-155, featuring a 155-metre rotor and state of the art blades to significantly increase energy production at low wind sites. The SG 4.7-155 has a nominal power rating of 4.7 MW and is equipped with OptimaFlex technology, enabling it to operate between 4 MW and 5 MW depending on site conditions.

China’s Goldwind sells 160-MW Rattlesnake wind park in Texas

Goldwind Americas has sold its 160-MW Rattlesnake wind farm in Texas to an investment company advised by Exus Management Partners for an undisclosed amount. UNHCR calls for tenders for 10 solar hybrid systems in three African countries

The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees’ (UNHCR) Green Fund has launched a call for tenders for the installation of 10 solar photovoltaic systems for its operations in three East African countries, namely Ethiopia, Kenya and Uganda. This project will result in solar power plants with capacities ranging from 60 kWp to 500 kWp, with a cumulative capacity of 1.8 MWp at all 10 sites.

Japan’s sixth solar auction delivers final lowest price of 10 yen per unit

The METI has announced the results of the sixth auction for solar projects with a generation capacity of more than 250 kW. It has selected 255 projects with a combined capacity of 368.8 MW in the procurement exercise, after having initially accepted project proposals with a combined capacity of 526.5 MW for review. The capacity of these projects ranges from 300 kW to 68.6 MW.

BP plans to enter green hydrogen production space

Iberdrola announces investment plan of Euro 75 billion

Iberdrola plans to invest Euro 75 billion towards energy transition by 2025. More than Euro 7 billion will be allocated to renewables and over Euro 4.5 billion to networks. 83 per cent of the investment is targeted at countries with an A rating. Almost half of the investment, amounting to about Euro 34 billion, is to be directed towards the United States and the United Kingdom. The company plans an average investment of 10 billion Euros per year between 2020 and 2022, and 13 billion Euros per year in the period 2023-2025.
