The technology company Holaluz has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with the German company Enerparc to acquire power generated from a total of 84 MW of solar photovoltaic parks in the Balearic Islands, Spain. The agreement has been signed for a period of 10 years. The entire project will require an investment of about 60 million euros and the energy acquired will be supply to around 43,000 new Holaluz customers.

The company’s commitment to such contracts ensures that it can offer a stable price to its customers, and the renewable origin of its energy. For this reason, since November 2018 it has signed other contracts with Raiola Future, EDF Solar, Falck, Chint Energy, Fundeen and Wirtgen Invest to acquire power from about 750 MW of solar projects.

In November 2020, Enerparc announced that it had secured a 30-year PPA with German railway operator Deutsche Bahn. The deal relates to a 90 MW solar power plant in Gaarz in the German northeastern region of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. Under the terms of the agreement, the solar plant will sell approximately 80 GWh of electricity per year to Deutsche Bahn. The solar park will be built on a 91-hectare area in the first half of next year. The project is being financed by German lender Deutsche Kreditbank (DKB).
