EDF Renewables has signed an MoU with the Ceará Government to advance the green hydrogen industry. This partnership intends to stimulate the green hydrogen production chain and propel solutions for sustainable energy. As a part of the MoU, EDF Renewables Brazil will conduct extensive research and analysis with the aim of building a green hydrogen generation plant. These initiatives may involve partnering with local universities to promote innovation and information sharing. Additionally, the Ceará agreement on green hydrogen is EDF’s second of its sort in Brazil, which will result in the creation of income, private investment, and employment.
In June 2023, EDF Renewables Ireland formed a partnership with Simply Blue Group to develop the Western Star and Emerald floating wind projects in Ireland. The objective of the collaboration was to develop the initiatives through a joint venture. The alliance supported the Irish government’s goal of producing 7 GW of offshore wind energy by 2030. In March 2023, Eoliennes en Mer Manche Normandie, a consortium of EDF Renewables and Maple Power, announced plans to build a 1 GW offshore wind facility known as Centre Manche 1 off the coast of Normandy, France.
