Sonnedix has concluded the $556 million purchase of a 416 MW solar portfolio in Chile from Enel Chile. The company has purchased Arcadia Generacion Solar, a company that manages a portfolio of four active solar power projects. Reportedly, the deal was finalised following permission from the Chilean antitrust authority, Fiscalía Nacional Económica, and was initially revealed in July 2023.

Furthermore, the solar PV portfolio is made up of four plants: Diego de Almagro (36 MW, operational since 2014), Carrera Pinto (97 MW, functioning since 2016), Pampa Solar Norte (79 MW, running since 2016), and Domeyko (204 MW, active since 2022). Together, these plants produce about 1 TWh of net production annually. The plants are situated in the northern Chilean regions of Atacama and Antofagasta. The power is sold through a long-term PPA with Enel Green Power.

Earlier this month, Sonnedix commenced construction of the 149 MW Douro solar plant in Portugal. It is situated in Tarouca municipality in the Viseu district of northern Portugal. The project is scheduled to be finished by the end of 2024.
