Sunfire GmbH, a German electrolyser producer has won an order to provide a 100 MW pressurised alkaline electrolyser to an unidentified European refinery. The agreement includes 10 electrolysis technology modules from the company, each with a 10 MW capacity, as well as the power supply units. The system’s installation and commissioning will be under the direction of Sunfire. In 2026, electrolyser is expected to begin its functioning.

In January 2023, P2X Solutions Oy officially begun work on a 20 MW project that would build Finland’s first commercial-scale green hydrogen production station. The plant, which would be situated in the town of Harjavalta in the region of Western Finland, would generate green hydrogen using technology supplied by Germany’s Sunfire GmbH. Furthermore, the complex was planned to become operational in 2024, with some of its output planned to be processed into renewable synthetic fuels, such as synthetic methane.
