Mainstreaming Green Hydrogen in Europe

Europe could mainstream green hydrogen faster than traditional assessments suggest by creating joint investment projects along the value chain, which would allow the initial green premium, or extra cost, of green hydrogen to be measured against the sustainability value-add of a final product, and not only against the cost of competing fossil fuels. Spain plans moving to a new auction system for renewables

Spain’s cabinet approved a decree establishing rules for renewable energy auctions. The long-awaited auction scheme is likely to lead to the first round by year’s end. The system will have submission of sealed bids and the winners will receive different prices based on their offers. This will take place under a “pay as bid” system.

EBRD to help finance construction of 100 MW wind project in Kazakhstan

EBRD announced funding an amount of $24.8 million to support the development of a wind project in Kazakhstan with a capacity of 100 MW. The project work will be undertaken by Zhanatas Wind Power Station, a special project company run and owned by China Power International Holding in partnership with Dutch alternative asset manager Visor Investments Cooperatif.

New York State approves the expanded Clean Energy Standard for achieving 70 per cent renewables by 2030

ANDRITZ to supply electro-mechanical equipment for Greenko’s pumped storage plant in India

ANDRITZ has received a contract from Greenko, one of the largest independent power producers in India, for the supply of electro-mechanical equipment for the 1,200 MW Pinnapuram pumped storage plant located in Andhra Pradesh, India. The contract includes design, manufacture, supply, transportation, erection, testing, and commissioning of four 240 MW units, two 120 MW reversible pump units, main inlet valves and associated auxiliaries.
