RWE, a German energy company, has agreed to acquire all of Con Edison Clean Energy Businesses (Con Edison CEB) for $6.8 billion. Con Edison CEB, based in Valhalla, New York, operates and develops renewable energy plants around the US. The company has around 3 GW of operational capacity, with solar projects accounting for 90 per cent of the total.

Alpha Solar, a Warsaw-based company, has professionals on staff who work on every step of the solar development process, from land acquisition to preparing it for construction. SolarDuck, RWE partner on floating solar technology pilot in North Sea

In order to develop the usage of floating solar parks in the sea and integrate them into an offshore wind farm to build a multi-source renewable energy project, the German sustainable energy company RWE and offshore solar energy developer SolarDuck have signed a collaboration agreement. In its proposal for the Dutch offshore wind farm Hollandse Kust West (HKW VII) for system integration, RWE selected SolarDuck as the sole supplier of offshore floating solar technology with integrated storage.

RWE shortlists Siemens Gamesa turbines for wind farm in Poland

RWE, a German energy company, has signed an agreement with Siemens Gamesa to deliver offshore wind turbines for its FEW Baltic II offshore wind project in Poland. Siemens Gamesa will deliver 25 SG 14-236 DD wind turbines for the 350 MW project. A service agreement is also included with the order. Construction on the site is expected to start as early as 2024, depending on the final investment decision.

RWE begins commercial operations of its 200 MW wind farms in Texas

RWE Renewables, a German renewable energy company, has begun commercial operations at its El Algodon Alto onshore wind farm in Texas’ San Patricio County. The 200 MW onshore wind plant, which is part of the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) south market, is equipped with 91 Vestas wind turbines. The onshore wind farm will generate enough electricity to power over 60,000 homes.

RWE wins two new onshore wind projects in Germany

In an onshore wind power infrastructure auction, the German Federal Network Agency awarded RWE two onshore wind projects. The Grevenbroich wind farm in North Rhine-Westphalia has a total installed capacity of 45 MW, whereas the Bartelsdorf 2 project is in Lower Saxony. The Grevenbroich wind farm will have a total installed capacity of 17.1 MW, and construction is planned to start in the second quarter of 2022.

RWE and PPC partner for 2 GW of solar power deployment in Greece

RWE, a German energy company, has formed a joint venture (JV) with PPC, a Greek utility, to develop utility-scale solar projects with a combined capacity of up to 2 GW in Greece. Under the arrangement, RWE will hold 51 per cent of the joint business, while PPC renewables will hold the remaining 49 per cent. PPC Renewables will provide nine solar projects with combined generation capacity of 940 MW to the joint venture.
