Orica reaches FID on Hunter Valley Hydrogen Hub in Australia

Orica has reached the final investment decision (FID) for the Hunter Valley Hydrogen Hub (HVHH) in Australia. The project will be a commercial-scale renewable hydrogen facility integrated with Orica’s ammonia manufacturing plant at Kooragang Island in New South Wales. The project will produce approximately 4,700 tonnes of renewable hydrogen annually, enabling the production of around 26,600 tonnes of low-carbon ammonia.

Hy2gen’s Albatros hydrogen project wins European Hydrogen Bank support

Hy2gen Nordic’s Albatros renewable hydrogen project located in Kassø, Denmark, has been selected for support under the European Hydrogen Bank (EHB). The project will feature a 100 MW electrolyser producing RFNBO-certified renewable hydrogen for industrial customers in Germany and across Europe. The project is expected to produce approximately 144,000 tonnes of renewable hydrogen over a period of 10 years.

Ohmium and Hynfra partner for green hydrogen projects in Middle East and Africa

Ohmium International and Hynfra P.S.A. have signed a cooperation agreement to advance green hydrogen and green ammonia projects in Mauritania, Jordan, and Oman. The agreement covers the FEED stage and establishes a framework for continued collaboration across the three projects. Under the partnership, Ohmium will provide technical support and expertise in PEM electrolyser technology during the FEED and project development phases.

ENGIE and European Energy partner on 150 MW Danish green hydrogen project

ENGIE and European Energy have signed an agreement to develop a large-scale renewable hydrogen project in Aabenraa Municipality, Denmark. The project will feature an electrolyser with a capacity of up to 150 MW and is planned to connect to the future Danish-German Hydrogen Backbone infrastructure. The facility will be developed close to an industrial-scale e-methanol plant, owned by Mitsui & Co. and European Energy.

H-Power to supply 5,000 kg green hydrogen to Protium in UK

H-Power has secured a contract to supply 5,000 kg of fuel cell-grade green hydrogen to Protium in UK. The sale follows regulatory approval from the Environment Agency allowing H-Power to supply hydrogen from the facility to third-party customers until August 2026. The hydrogen, produced from bio-ammonia, meets ISO 14687 Grade D standards with 99.97 percent purity, making it suitable for PEM fuel cell applications.

European Energy secures funding for 150 MW green hydrogen project in Denmark 

European Energy has been selected as one of the three projects to receive support under Germany’s hydrogen auction framework linked to the European Hydrogen Bank (EHB). The company has been awarded funding of up to €228 million to support the development of an additional 150 MW of hydrogen production capacity in Denmark. The project will support the decarbonisation of industrial processes and transport sectors across Europe.

Power2X announces FID for 20 MW green hydrogen project in Netherlands

Power2X has announced the final investment decision (FID) for the Djewels green hydrogen project. The 20 MW project is located in Delfzijl, Groningen in the Netherlands. The project will be developed at the Chemical Park Delfzijl and is connected directly to Nobian’s industrial infrastructure.  The project will now enter the construction phase with first production expected in mid-2028.

Barrow green hydrogen project in UK reaches FID

The 30 MW Barrow Green Hydrogen project in Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria, has reached final investment decision (FID). The project is being delivered by Green Hydrogen Energy Company, a joint venture of Schroders Greencoat and Carlton Power. The will supply c100 GWh of green hydrogen annually to Kimberly-Clark’s manufacturing facility in Cumbria. Furthermore, Plug Power will provide 30 MW of GenEco proton exchange membrane (PEM) electrolysers for the project.

EVREC files EIS for green hydrogen and ammonia project in Canada

Exploits Valley Renewable Energy Corporation (EVREC) has filed the environmental impact statement (EIS) for its wind-to-green hydrogen and ammonia project in Central Newfoundland, Canada. EVREC is a joint venture between Abraxas Power and EDF power solutions which are jointly developing the project. The EIS will assess the potential environmental impacts associated with all stages of the project, including construction, operation, maintenance, and eventual decommissioning.

Gen2 Energy secures grid capacity for green hydrogen project in Norway

Norway-based Gen2 Energy has secured a 150 MW grid capacity reservation for its green hydrogen project at Monstad in Åfjord municipality. This will strengthen the project’s power connectivity framework. The project will produce up to 60 tonnes of liquefied green hydrogen per day. The reservation pertains to the existing transmission network and ensures access to the required grid capacity for the proposed facility.

MorGen Energy secures EU grant for green hydrogen project in Denmark

MorGen Energy, a subsidiary of Trafigura, has secured a conditional grant of up to €422.75 million under the European Hydrogen Bank auction funded by the EU Innovation Fund. The grant supports the future operations of the Njordkraft green hydrogen project which is located in Esbjerg, Denmark. The project is expected to produce around 45,500 tonnes of renewable hydrogen annually for sectors including steel, refining and energy-intensive manufacturing.

L&T inks 300,000 TPA green ammonia supply agreement with ITOCHU   

L&T Energy GreenTech Limited (LTEGL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Larsen & Toubro (L&T), has entered into a long-term partnership with ITOCHU Corporation. Under this agreement, LTEGL will supply 300,000 tonnes per annum (TPA) of green ammonia to ITOCHU. The supply will be on a captive, long-term take-or-pay basis from LTEGL’s proposed production facility in Gujarat, India.

NEL Hydrogen secures $7 million PEM electrolyser order 

Nel Hydrogen US has received a $7 million purchase order from Mesure Process to supply containerised PEM electrolyser equipment for European hydrogen projects. The units will produce 100 per cent renewable hydrogen to support both high-demand hydrogen refueling stations for mobility and industrial export applications. The project, managed by Synqo Energies as the EPC supplier, is expected to commence operation in 2027.

 EC approves €6 billion Italian aid scheme for renewable hydrogen 

The European Commission (EC) has approved a €6 billion Italian scheme to support renewable hydrogen production for transport and industry. The hydrogen can be produced both from renewable electricity through electrolysis and from biogenic sources through biological, bio-thermochemical or thermochemical processes. The aid will be provided through two-way contracts for difference.

Topsoe and Hynfra join forces for green ammonia project in Jordan

Topsoe has entered into a front-end engineering and design agreement with Hynfra to develop a green ammonia project in the port of Aqaba, Jordan. Under the agreement, the facility will use Topsoe’s ModuLite™ platform to convert green hydrogen into ammonia. The project is a joint venture between Hynfra and Fidelity Group. It is expected to reach a final investment decision by 2027, and is expected to commence operations in 2030.

Samsung C&T completes off-grid green hydrogen plant in South Korea

Samsung C&T’s Engineering & Construction (E&C) Group has completed an off-grid green hydrogen production facility in Gimcheon, South Korea. The plant generates green hydrogen using entirely renewable energy sourced from an 8.3 MW solar power installation. With a 10 MW water electrolysis system, the facility is capable of producing around 0.6 tonnes of green hydrogen per day, translating to over 230 tonnes annually.
