Mainstream achieves commercial operations for Ckhúri wind farm in Chile

Mainstream Renewable Power has announced that it has received commercial operations date (COD) certification for the Ckhúri Wind Farm from the National Electricity Coordinator. The project is located in Calama in the Antofagasta Region, Chile. The project has an installed capacity of 109.2 MW and comprises 26 Vestas turbines. Furthermore, the project is expected to supply clean energy sufficient to power approximately 166,000 Chilean homes.

Envision and Menderes join forces for 120 MW wind power project in Turkey 

Envision Energy has partnered with Menderes Tekstil for the Beğendik wind power project. The project, located in Edirne Province, Turkey, has an installed capacity of 120 MW. The project will deploy 15 units of Envision’s EN-182/8.0 MW wind turbines. The project is also expected to generate around 360 million kWh of clean electricity annually. Additionally, the project is expected to offset carbon emissions by approximately 225,000 tonnes on an annual basis.

ADB to finance ACWA’s 300 MW wind project in Uzbekistan

Asian Development Bank (ADB) has signed a $116 million financing package with ACWA Power to support the development, construction, operation, and transfer of a 300 MW wind power project in the Bukhara region, Uzbekistan. The financing includes a $50 million loan from ADB’s ordinary capital resources, $41 million from commercial lenders, and $25 million from the ADB’s Leading Asia’s Private Infrastructure Fund 2 (LEAP 2).

New York launches a new onshore renewable energy tender

The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) has launched the 10th annual Renewable Energy Standard solicitation, RESRFP26-1, to accelerate clean energy deployment across New York. The solicitation, issued on April 24, 2026, seeks Tier 1-eligible renewable energy certificates (RECs) from projects with a near-term path to commercial operation. The procurement process will follow a two-step structure comprising a step one eligibility application and a step two competitive bid proposal process.

RWE to supply 70 GWh clean energy to Breedon in Great Britain

RWE has signed a 15-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with Breedon Group in Great Britain. Under the agreement, RWE will provide around 70 GWh of renewable power annually to Breedon’s operations. The power will initially be supplied from the Gwynt y Môr Offshore Wind Farm located in the Irish Sea. From 2033 onwards, the power will be supplied from the Brechfa Forest West Wind Farm located in Wales.

IFM Investors will acquire the remaining 50 per cent stake in Nala Renewables from Trafigura Renewables. Nala Renewables, a renewable-energy platform located in London, operates a multi-technology portfolio with over 2 GW capacity across solar, wind, and storage. The platform also targets 10 GW of global capacity in operation, construction, or late-stage development by 2030.

Vestas bags 186 MW wind turbine order in Québec

Vestas has secured a 186 MW turbine order from EDF Power Solutions North America for the Forêt Domaniale Wind Project. The order includes 28 EnVentus V162-6.2 MW wind turbines and 2 EnVentus V162-6.0 MW along with a 10-year AOM 5000 service agreement. Turbine delivery is expected in the second quarter of 2027, with commissioning expected in the fourth quarter of 2027.

European Energy signs PPA for 161 MW wind farm in Lithuania 

European Energy has signed a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) with Mars for the Skuodas wind farm project in Lithuania. The project will have an installed capacity of 161 MW and is expected to generate around 490 GWh annually. Commercial operations for the project are targeted by 2028. Additionally, the project will help offset roughly 120,000 tonnes of carbon emissions annually.

The European Investment Bank (EIB) has approved €10 billion in financing, including €2 billion for clean energy initiatives in Europe. The funding will support offshore wind in Germany, solar projects in Italy, and renewable adoption by businesses in Austria. It also includes investments in energy efficiency for heating systems in Latvia and grid upgrades in the Netherlands.

TotalEnergies gets funding for Kazakhstan wind and BESS project

TotalEnergies has secured financing for the Mirny onshore wind and battery energy storage system (BESS) project in Kazakhstan. The project includes a 1 GW onshore wind farm, with 150 turbines and a 600 MWh battery system which will be supplied by Saft, an affiliate of TotalEnergies. The power generated will be sold to the Government of Kazakhstan under a 25-year PPA which was signed in 2023.

The JV, headquartered in Nikšić, will deploy solar, wind, hydropower, pumped storage, BESS, and hybrid energy solutions. Qualitas Energy bags 126 MW in German onshore wind auction 

Qualitas Energy has secured 126 MW across three wind projects in February 2026 onshore wind auctions conducted by the German Federal Network Agency. The projects, located in Lower Saxony, North Rhine-Westphalia, and Baden-Württemberg, involve the development of 18 turbines. The projects will power around 84,000 households once they commence operations.

Amazon Australia signs 430 MW clean energy PPAs 

Amazon Australia has signed nine power purchase agreements (PPAs) to add 430 MW of clean energy to the grid across New South Wales and Victoria. The projects will increase Amazon’s total renewable capacity in Australia to nearly 1 GW (990 MW) once operational. The portfolio includes: one wind farm, three utility-scale solar and battery hybrids, four distributed solar-battery projects, and a new battery installation at the Mokoan Solar Farm.

clearvise AG signs wind and solar PPAs in Germany and Ireland

clearvise AG has signed power purchase agreements (PPAs) for five wind and solar projects across Germany and Ireland. The agreements cover four German solar parks: Klettwitz Nord (90 MW), Alsweiler (10 MW), Lohne (8.6 MW), Triticum (16.8 MW) and the 35 MW Glenough wind farm in Ireland. The PPAs are of 9-12 months and are expected to generate over €0.7 million in additional earnings compared to previous budget projections.

China Huaneng connects 504 MW offshore wind project to grid

The Huaneng Shandong Peninsula North L offshore wind power project in China with a total installed capacity of 504 MW has been fully grid-connected. The project deploys 42 units of 12 MW wind turbines about 70 km offshore in water depths of 52-56 meters. It is also expected to generate around 1.7 billion kWh of electricity annually, saving roughly 500,000 tonnes of standard coal on an annual basis.

Revolve inks interconnection agreement for 130 MW wind project in Mexico

Revolve Renewable Power has signed the final interconnection agreement with Comisión Federal de Electricidad for its 130 MW EL24 Wind Project in Tamaulipas, Mexico. The project has also received its environmental permit from the Secretariat of Environment and Natural Resources (SEMARNAT). Additionally, the project has already secured the final generation permit from Comisión Nacional de Energía, Mexico’s renewable energy regulator.

TotalEnergies and Masdar have signed a $2.2 billion 50/50 JV agreement to merge their onshore renewable activities in Asia. The JV will manage 3 GW of operational assets and 6 GW under advanced development that are expected to commence operation by 2030. The JV will be the sole platform for developing, building, owning and operating onshore solar, wind and battery storage projects.

Germany awards 3.5 GW of onshore wind and solar capacity

The Federal Network Agency of Germany has released the results of the tenders for onshore wind turbines and solar installations on buildings and noise barriers that closed on February 1, 2026. For onshore wind turbines, a total capacity of 3,445 MW was tendered, attracting 924 bids with a combined capacity of 7,858 MW. Of these, 439 bids amounting to 3,445 MW were awarded contracts, while 24 bids were excluded from the award process.
