Neoen begins construction of three solar projects in France

Neoen has initiated construction of three new solar farms in France with a combined capacity of 230 MWp, all scheduled to become operational by 2028. The projects include the Le Couret agrisolar project with a capacity of 147 MWp in the Haute-Vienne department, along with the Isle-sur-Marne solar farm of 48 MWp and the Matignicourt floating solar farm of 35 MWp both located in the La Marne department.

Neoen divests 760 MW French renewables portfolio to Plenitude

Neoen has reached an agreement to sell a 760 MW segment of its operational renewable energy portfolio in France to Plenitude, a subsidiary of Eni. The portfolio covers 52 projects, comprising 37 solar farms, 14 onshore wind projects and one battery energy storage system (BESS) facility. Neoen will continue managing these projects for some more years under an asset management arrangement.

Atmos Renewables acquires 316 MW Australian wind farm from Neoen

Atmos Renewables has acquired a majority stake in the 316 MW Hornsdale wind farm in South Australia from Neoen.The company previously held minority interests across the three stages of the project and will assume full ownership and control following the transaction. Reportedly, the settlement is expected in the latter half of 2025, subject to customary conditions precedent. The wind farm has been operational since 2017.

Neoen bags 380 MW contract for BESS in Canada

Neoen has disclosed that its fully-owned subsidiary, Shift Solar Inc, secured a 380 MW / 4-hour capacity contract through a competitive tender organised by the Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO), Ontario’s electric grid operator. Grey Owl Storage will supply the IESO during 20 years from commissioning with additional capacity that will contribute to meet the province’s growing demands.

Vestas secures EPC order for two wind projects in Finland

Vestas, a manufacturer of Danish wind turbines, has been awarded an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract for two wind farms in Finland that Neoen and Prokon will own jointly. The combined output of the Lumivaara and Storbötet wind farms will be 161 MW. The 17 Vestas V162-6.2MW turbines that make up the 105 MW Storbötet wind farm will be situated in the municipality of Uusikaarlepyy. The Lumivaara wind farm, located in the municipality of Hyrynsalmi, will be powered by nine V162-6.2MW turbines.

Neoen begins constructing 400 MWh battery project in Australia

Neoen, a French renewable energy provider, has issued notice to proceed to a consortium comprising Elecnor and NHOA to commence construction of its Blyth Battery in South Australia. The 200 MW/400 MWh battery will be constructed close to the Blyth West substation and connected to the transmission system of ElectraNet. ElectraNet operates a high-voltage transmission network in South Australia, transporting power from traditional and renewable generators over long distances.

Neoen secures 180 MW of solar and wind capacity in France

Neoen, a French renewable energy provider, has been awarded 180 MW of solar and wind power capacity in the French government’s technology-neutral call for tenders. The auction process was supervised by France’s energy regulation commission, CRE. As per the company’s statement, Neon was awarded the most capacity in the auction process, with the 180 MW being split between 11 projects with capacities ranging from 12 MW to 22.8 MW.

Neoen Australia, a producer of renewable energy, has submitted planning documents for the construction of a stand-alone 1 GW / 4 GWh battery energy storage system (BESS) near Collie, Western Australia. Reportedly, the big battery would be constructed on a 31-hectare location 12 km to the northeast of Collie and 215 km to the southeast of Perth.

Neoen commissions 208 MW solar park in Argentina

Neoen has completed the construction of its Altiplano 200 solar power plant. The 208 MW solar park is located in Argentina’s Salta region. The plant is Argentina’s second-largest solar project. Altiplano is expected to generate 650,000 MWh of solar-powered electricity every year, which is enough to power 215,000 households for a year. Under a 20-year power purchase agreement, the electricity produced will be supplied to national operator CAMMESA.

Neoen launches Euro 600 Mn rights issue to finance renewable energy goals

French renewable energy developer, Neoen has launched a Euro 600 million share rights issue to help finance the company’s Euro 5 billion investment plan. The company aims to build a renewable energy portfolio of 10GW in operation or under construction by 2025. The net proceeds from the issuance of the new shares will go into financing its new assets as part of a first investment cycle which will end by 2022.

Neon closes financing for Victoria Big Battery project

Neoen, a renewable energy developer, has financially closed on the Victoria Big Battery project, an energy storage project with a capacity of 300 MW/450 MWh. While the Clean Energy Finance Corporation, on behalf of the Australian Government will provide debt financing of 160 million Australian dollar, Neoen will also hold equity. The battery storage facility will be located near Geelong, in Victoria.

Engie and Neoen propose 1 GW solar plus storage project in France

French energy giant Engie and ndependent power producer Neoen have announced plans to develop Europe’s largest solar-plus-storage plant . The project, “Horizeo” will have a installed capacity of 1 GW and include a green hydrogen production unit, an agrivoltaic plant, and a data center. It is estimated to cost Euro 1 billion and will be managed by French energy regulator CRE.
