Grenergy inaugrates 3.5 GWh Elena BESS in Chile

Grenergy has inaugurated the 3.5 GWh Elena battery energy storage system (BESS) project in Chile. The project currently includes 624 battery containers and 6,240 batteries, with plans to expand capacity to 7 GWh by 2028. The project forms part of the Oasis de Atacama platform, which combines 2.5 GW of solar capacity with 14.1 GWh of storage. Across the OASIS platforms, the company’s pipeline totals 5 GW of solar and 22 GWh of storage.

CIP divests minority stake in 500 MW BESS project in Europe 

Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) has agreed to divest minority stakes in its 500 MW Devilla battery energy storage (BESS) project to the Scottish National Investment Bank and Nuclear Liabilities Fund. The project, located in Kincardine, Scotland, is a two-hour-duration lithium-ion BESS. CIP will retain a majority stake and continue to oversee the project construction.

Lightsource bp commences construction of 380 MWdc solar plus storage project in Australia

Lightsource bp has commenced construction of the Lower Wonga hybrid renewable energy project located near Gympie, Queensland. The project comprises a 380 MWdc solar farm with a 281 MW/843 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS). The project will commence operations in late 2028. A joint venture between INTEC Energy Solutions and Gotion Hi-Tech Australia will deliver the project.

Fidra acquires up to 1 GW BESS project in UK 

Fidra Energy has acquired the Enderby battery energy storage (BESS) project from Innova in Leicestershire, UK.  Once operational, the project is expected to deliver up to 1,025 MW of storage capacity. The acquisition expands Fidra Energy’s UK battery storage pipeline to more than 4 GW. The project received planning consent in May 2025, with a regulatory decision expected in summer 2026.

Levanta Renewables reaches financial close for solar plus storage project in Philippines 

Levanta Renewables has achieved financial close and issued the notice to proceed for the Barotac solar and battery energy storage system (BESS) project located in the Visayas, Philippines. The project comprises a 166 MWp ground-mounted solar PV facility along with an 80 MWh BESS. The project was awarded a power purchase agreement under the Philippines’ Green Energy Auction Program Round 4.

Aukera Energy reaches financial close on 340 MWh BESS project in Belgium

Aukera Energy has achieved financial close for Project Volt located in La Louvière, Belgium. The project includes a 170 MW/340 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) and is being developed in partnership with Weerts Group. Commercial operations for the project are scheduled to commence in mid-2027. The project was awarded a 15-year contract through Elia’s Y-4 Capacity Remuneration Mechanism auction in November 2025.

Qualitas Energy has signed an agreement with ACL Energy to finance the construction of a 211 MW battery energy storage (BESS) portfolio in Italy. The portfolio consists of two BESS projects located in Lombardy and Apulia, featuring 4-hour and 8-hour storage systems. Both projects have secured long-term revenue streams through 15-year contracts awarded under Italy’s Capacity Market and MACSE storage auctions.

LG Energy Solution Vertech and DTE Energy sign 6 GWh BESS deal in Michigan

LG Energy Solution Vertech has signed a supply agreement with DTE Energy to deploy battery energy storage systems (BESS) across Michigan. The partnership will support eight projects over the next two years, delivering a total of 1.5 GW/6 GWh of storage capacity. Battery cells will be sourced from LG Energy Solution’s manufacturing facilities in Michigan, as well as other locations in the US and Canada for the project.

ZOE Energy Storage and Saudi company join forces for BESS manufacturing facility 

ZOE Energy Storage has partnered with a Saudi company to establish a BESS manufacturing facility. The BESS will be developed in two phases, with Phase I delivering 6 GWh capacity by the first quarter of 2027 and Phase II expanding total production capacity to 18 GWh. Once operational, the facility will serve markets across the Middle East, Africa, and Central Asia.

Australia awards 7.8 GW of clean energy projects

Australia’s Assistant Minister for Climate Change and Energy has announced the results of Tender 7 under the Capacity Investment Scheme (CIS). A total of 19 renewable energy projects were selected, delivering 7.8 GW, exceeding the original 5 GW target  of capacity. Of which 8 projects are hybrid systems combining wind or solar generation with battery storage.

Trafigura and Nadara sign 434 MW hybrid PPA in Spain 

Trafigura has signed a 10-year hybrid power purchase agreement (PPA) withNadara for 434 MW of renewable energy capacity in Spain. The agreement covers power generation from five solar PV farms and six wind farms. The PPA includes output from Nadara’s hybrid sites at Esquileo, Dehesilla I & II, San Lorenzo C & D, along with the operational La Dehesica wind farm.

Spearmint Energy secures financing for 600 MWh BESS project in Texas

Spearmint Energy has secured approximately $450 million in financing for the 300 MW/600 MWh Red Egret battery energy storage (BESS) project located in Texas City, Texas. The project includes a $225 million construction facility led by First Citizens Bank and Investec. The financing package also features $96 million in preferred equity from Nuveen Energy Infrastructure Credit, backed by TIAA.

Sungrow and Masdar sign 7.5 GWh ESS deal for RTC project in Abu Dhabi

Sungrow andMasdar have signed an agreement to supply a battery energy storage system (BESS) and photovoltaic (PV) inverter solutions for the UAE’s gigascale round-the-clock renewable energy project. The project, being developed by Masdar and Emirates Water and Electricity Company (EWEC), will combine 5.2 GW of solar PV with a 19 GWh BESS. Under the agreement, Sungrow will provide 7.5 GWh of PowerTitan 3.0 ESS and 2.6 GW of PV inverter solutions.

Grenergy inks hybrid PPA with Georgia Power in US

Grenergy has entered into a 20-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with Georgia Power in US for the supply of renewable energy and associated renewable attributes under the Clean and Renewable Energy Subscription (CARES) 2023 programme. Ford and EDF sign upto 4 GWh BESS supply agreement

Ford Motor Company, a subsidiary of Ford Energy andEDF Power Solutions North America have signed a five-year framework agreement for large-scale battery energy storage (BESS) procurement in US. Under the agreement, EDF may procure up to 4 GWh of DC Block BESS annually from Ford Energy. The partnership represents a total potential deployment volume of up to 20 GWh over the five-year term.
