Cleantech Solar to develop rooftop solar project for Coats Group in Indonesia

Cleantech Solar has entered into a second long-term agreement with Coats Group plc for a rooftop solar project in Indonesia. As per the agreement, Cleantech Solar will develop and operate a rooftop solar project at Coats Rejo Indonesia’s facility in Pasuruan, East Java. Once operational, the combined project will allow Coats to replace 17.3 per cent of its total electricity consumption with renewable energy.

Zambian Ministry inks solar agreement for 118 MW solar project

EIB funds three solar projects in Romania

The European Investment Bank (EIB) has committed approximately €34 million to support the construction and operation of three solar projects in southwestern Romania. The projects will have a combined capacity of 190 MW and are expected to generate enough electricity to supply more than 160,000 households. They will be located in the Olt and Dolj counties in the Oltenia region, near the Danube river and the Bulgarian border.

SolarAfrica secures financial close for 114 MW solar project 

SolarAfrica has achieved financial close of R 1.5 billion for the development of SunCentral 2, a 114 MW solar plant in the Northern Cape. The funding has been arranged through RMB and Investec Bank Limited. The project is scheduled to begin supplying power in 2026. SunCentral 2 follows SunCentral 1, which also has a capacity of 114 MW and reached financial close at the end of 2024.

EDPR secures PPA for 150 MWac solar project in Illinois

EDP, S.A., through its subsidiary EDP Renováveis, S.A. (EDPR), has secured a 30-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with Consumers Energy Company for electricity generated from a 150 MWac, or 209 MWdc, solar project in Clark County, Illinois, US. Completion of the transaction remains subject to regulatory clearance from the Michigan Public Service Commission. The solar project is scheduled to commence operations in 2027.

Israel to develop solar-plus-storage project

Israel’s Finance Ministry has announced that a new solar plant integrated with the battery energy storage system (BESS) will be developed at the Ashalim power station in southern Israel. The project is designed to deliver up to 80 MW of electricity to the national grid. It will include solar photovoltaic installations with a total capacity of 150 MW. Additionally, the project will incorporate a 400 MWh BESS.

AMEA Power commissions 120 MWp solar project in Tunisia

AMEA Power has commissioned a 120 MWp solar project in the Kairouan Governorate of Tunisia. The project was financed with support from the International Finance Corporation, part of the World Bank Group, along with the African Development Bank. It is expected to produce about 222 GWh of electricity annually. Moreover, the project is estimated to reduce carbon emissions by around 117,000 tonnes annually.

The contract has been awarded by Shafag (Jabrayil) Solar Limited and covers the complete EPC scope. Additionally, the agreement includes operation and maintenance services for the first two years of the project’s operations. The total contract value is $117 million.

TotalEnergies commences operations of 112 MW solar project in Saudi Arabia

The consortium consisting of TotalEnergies, Toyota Tsusho, and Altaaqa Renewable Energy has commenced commercial operations of its 112 MW solar project located in Wadi Ad-Dawasir, Saudi Arabia. The facility was constructed by SEPCO, a subsidiary of Power China, and achieved commissioning in July 2025. The generated power is being delivered to the Saudi Power Procurement Company under a power purchase agreement.
