Tunisia issues tender for 70 MW of solar power projects

The Ministry of Energy, Mines, and Renewable Energy of Tunisia has invited bids for 70 MW of solar power projects. The tender has two phases, one of 60 MW and the other one of 10 MW. In the first phase of 60 MW, each project will have a maximum solar capacity of 10 MW. Meanwhile, in the second phase of 10 MW, each project will have a maximum project capacity of 10 MW.

Statkraft completes acquisition of five solar farms in Ireland

Statkraft Ireland has acquired five fully permitted solar projects from Lightsource bp, a global leader in the development and management of solar energy projects. The total capacity of the five projects is 275 MWdc. These acquisitions are the most recent in Statkraft Ireland’s series of renewable energy transactions since 2018.

Japanese banks ink pact to finance Qatar’s 800 MW solar project

Qatar’s 800 MW Siraj 1 solar project has reached financial closure with the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) and Mizuho Bank agreeing to finance the construction of the project. The Japanese lenders have signed a $330 million syndicated loan according to the Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation.

Australia prepares for a mega solar and wind project auction

Australia’s largest renewables project has got a step nearer after being recommended for approval by the Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) of the state of Western Australia. The Asian Renewable Energy Hub (Areh), which could feature up to 15 GW of solar and wind generation capacity, would supply the Pilbara region and develop a green hydrogen manufacturing hub for domestic use and export to Asia.
