The collaboration aims to develop up to 1 GW of utility-scale wind, solar, and battery storage capacity across the country. BII and CIP launch $300 million Indian clean energy platform

BII has announced the launch of North Star. It is a $300 million platform aimed at accelerating the development of clean energy in India. BII will invest $150 million in the platform, while another $150 million will be provided by Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners through its Growth Markets Fund II. The platform is the first investment under British Climate Partners, a £1.1 billion climate finance initiative launched by BII.

TotalEnergies gets funding for Kazakhstan wind and BESS project

TotalEnergies has secured financing for the Mirny onshore wind and battery energy storage system (BESS) project in Kazakhstan. The project includes a 1 GW onshore wind farm, with 150 turbines and a 600 MWh battery system which will be supplied by Saft, an affiliate of TotalEnergies. The power generated will be sold to the Government of Kazakhstan under a 25-year PPA which was signed in 2023.

L&T inks 300,000 TPA green ammonia supply agreement with ITOCHU   

L&T Energy GreenTech Limited (LTEGL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Larsen & Toubro (L&T), has entered into a long-term partnership with ITOCHU Corporation. Under this agreement, LTEGL will supply 300,000 tonnes per annum (TPA) of green ammonia to ITOCHU. The supply will be on a captive, long-term take-or-pay basis from LTEGL’s proposed production facility in Gujarat, India.

China Huaneng connects 504 MW offshore wind project to grid

The Huaneng Shandong Peninsula North L offshore wind power project in China with a total installed capacity of 504 MW has been fully grid-connected. The project deploys 42 units of 12 MW wind turbines about 70 km offshore in water depths of 52-56 meters. It is also expected to generate around 1.7 billion kWh of electricity annually, saving roughly 500,000 tonnes of standard coal on an annual basis.

ANDRITZ bags equipment order for 3 GW PSP in India

ANDRITZ has secured an equipment order for the 3,000 MW Saidongar-1 Karjat pumped storage project in Maharashtra, India being developed by Torrent Energy Storage Solutions Private Limited, a subsidiary of Torrent Power Limited. The scope of work includes the design, manufacture, installation, testing, and commissioning of ten reversible pump turbines, motor generators, and associated electromechanical equipment.

TotalEnergies and Masdar form onshore renewables JV in Asia

TotalEnergies and Masdar have signed a $2.2 billion 50/50 JV agreement to merge their onshore renewable activities in Asia. The JV will manage 3 GW of operational assets and 6 GW under advanced development that are expected to commence operation by 2030. The JV will be the sole platform for developing, building, owning and operating onshore solar, wind and battery storage projects.

Samsung C&T completes off-grid green hydrogen plant in South Korea

Samsung C&T’s Engineering & Construction (E&C) Group has completed an off-grid green hydrogen production facility in Gimcheon, South Korea. The plant generates green hydrogen using entirely renewable energy sourced from an 8.3 MW solar power installation. With a 10 MW water electrolysis system, the facility is capable of producing around 0.6 tonnes of green hydrogen per day, translating to over 230 tonnes annually.

J-POWER begins operations of 220 MW offshore wind farm in Japan

Electric Power Development Co., Ltd. (J-POWER) has announced the commencement of commercial operations at the Kitakyushu Hibikinada offshore wind farm in Japan. The project is located in the Hibikinada sea off the coast of Wakamatsu-ku in Kitakyushu, Fukuoka. The total installed capacity of the project is 220 MW, of which 88 MW is owned by J-POWER. The wind farm comprises 25 wind turbines, each with a capacity of 9,600 kW.

1.65 GW offshore wind projects secure grid agreements in Philippines

A partnership comprising Seawind Asia AG, Stream Invest Holdings AG, and Triconti ECC Renewables has secured first grid connection agreements for offshore wind projects totalling 1,650 MW in the Philippines. The agreements were granted by the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines and cover three projects: the 450 MW Frontera Bay project and the 600 MW Guimaras Strait and 600 MW Guimaras Strait II projects.

Acwa to develop 5 GW renewable energy projects in Türkiye

Acwa has signed an investment agreement with the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources of the Republic of Türkiye under the 5 GW intergovernmental renewable energy programme. Under the agreement, Acwa will be responsible for developing, financing, constructing, commissioning, and operating the projects. The agreements cover the development of five renewable energy projects with a combined capacity of 5 GW.

Equinix inks solar VPPA for its Japanese data centers

Equinix has entered into a 15-year virtual power purchase agreement (VPPA) with ENEOS Renewable Energy Corporation to source renewable electricity from the Sanda Mega solar power plant in Japan.  The project is located in Hyogo Prefecture, with the agreement covering 121 MW of solar capacity. The solar project is expected to support the company’s target of powering its data centres in Japan with 100 per cent renewable energy.

Envision bags wind turbine supply order in Vietnam

Envision Energy has entered into a wind turbine supply agreement with REE Group for nearshore wind projects with a combined capacity of 128 MW in Vietnam’s Vinh Long province. The portfolio includes the V1-3 Phase II project with 48 MW capacity and the V1-5 and V1-6 Phase II projects totaling 80 MW. The projects will deploy 16 EN-226/8.X MW offshore wind turbines.

EcoCeres inaugurates renewable fuel facility in Malaysia

EcoCeres Inc. has inaugurated a renewable fuels facility in Pasir Gudang, Johor, Malaysia. The plant was commissioned and began operations in October 2025. The facility produces sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) along with hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO) and renewable naphtha, with a combined maximum production capacity of 420,000 tonnes per year. The plant converts waste and residue inputs into renewable fuels for use across various sectors.

Blueleaf Energy, in partnership with Universal Peak Sdn. Bhd., has been selected by the Energy Commission of Malaysia to develop, own, and operate a 100 MW/400 MWh utility-scale battery energy storage system (BESS) project in the country. The project has been awarded under the Malaysia Battery Energy Storage System (MyBeST) programme. The project is scheduled for commissioning in 2027.

Voltalia begins construction of hybrid project in Uzbekistan

Voltalia has commenced construction of the Artemisya hybrid energy cluster in Uzbekistan, covering battery storage and the first phase of wind capacity. The initial phase includes a 100 MW/200 MWh battery energy storage system project and a 100 MW wind project. The entire Artemisya cluster is planned to comprise 126 MW of solar capacity, 300 MW of wind capacity, and 100 MW/200 MWh of battery storage.

Synera signs CPPAs for Taiwan offshore wind project

Synera Renewable Energy Group (SRE) has reported that the entire 495 MW capacity of its Formosa 4 offshore wind project has been fully contracted through corporate power purchase agreements (CPPAs). The project reached full subscription following an initial CPPA signed with Taiwan Smart Electricity & Energy in December 2025, along with two additional CPPAs concluded subsequently in the same month.
