Trina Storage inks agreement for BESS project in Greece

Trina Storage, the energy storage arm of Trinasolar, has finalised an agreement for a 50 MW/200 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) project in Amyntaio, Western Macedonia, Greece. The BESS projects will be supplied on a full turnkey AC basis. It will include DC battery cabinets, power conversion systems (PCS), medium-voltage (MV) skids, and a power plant controller.

FREYR to acquire Trina Solar’s US manufacturing assets

FREYR Battery has inked an agreement to acquire Trina Solar’s US manufacturing assets. The deal is expected to be finalised by the end of 2024. As part of the agreement, FREYR will acquire Trina Solar’s 5 GW solar module manufacturing facility in Wilmer, Texas. The plant began production on November 1, 2024, and is expected to reach full production capacity by 2025.

Trinasolar to expand its hybrid solar initiatives across SEA

Trinasolar has announced plans to expand its hybrid solar initiatives across Southeast Asia (SEA) after successfully launching Malaysia’s largest hybrid solar project. The hybrid project is located in Merchang, Terengganu, the 100 MWac project combines 35 MW of floating solar panels with 65 MW of ground-mounted panels, designed to offset 202,024 tonnes of carbon emissions annually.

Trina Storage to supply BESS for solar farms in the UK

Trina Storage has secured a deal to provide battery energy storage systems (BESS) for four UK sites operated by Low Carbon. The systems will deliver approximately 190 MWh of total storage capacity, enhancing arbitrage and ancillary services capabilities. Each project will be able to provide its rated power output continuously for a duration of two hours.

Trina plans to build 5 GW module factory in Texas 

Trina Solar, a Chinese manufacturer of photovoltaic equipment, has planned to build a 5 GW photovoltaic module factory in Texas, entailing an investment of over $200 million. The property and necessary equipment are both included in the proposed investment. According to the plan, the company will manufacture its Vertex modules at the new manufacturing facility using polysilicon that is sourced from the US and Europe and 210-mm large-size wafers.

Trina Solar signs 500 MW solar module agreement in Yemen

Trina Solar, a Chinese manufacturer of photovoltaic equipment, has agreed to supply 500 MW of solar modules to Al-Raebi for trading in Yemen. In accordance with the contract, Trina Solar will provide 100 MW of Vertex N modules in 2023. As per the company’s statement, its upgraded Vertex N series modules will boost the module’s efficiency to 22.4 per cent and raise its power to 605 W and 695 W for utility settings, commercial and industrial photovoltaic applications, and residential and commercial photovoltaic applications.

Trina Solar secures 4 GW order from NextEra

Trina Solar has signed a long-term PV module supply deal with US energy major NextEra Energy totalling 4GW, thought to be the largest order of its kind outside of China. In a financial statement, Trina Solar said the PV module supply deal was for its high-efficiency large-area (210mm x 210mm) wafer-based modules, known at the Vertex series launched at the beginning of 2020.

Trina Solar seals 3-year polysilicon supply deal with Daqo

Within two weeks of signing a 72,000-ton supply deal with Tongwei, solar manufacturer Trina Solar has cornered another 30,000-ton slice of the global polysilicon market. It has signed a deal to buy 30,000-37,600 tons of mono-grade polysilicon from Daqo New Energy, with the contract running until December 2023.
