Linea Energy has secured project financing for its Watertown solar project, a 172 MWdc utility-scale facility located in Sanilac County, Michigan. The financing package comprises a construction-to-term loan, a tax equity bridge loan and a letter of credit facility. It is led by Santander Corporate & Investment Banking, with participation from Société Générale, Norddeutsche Landesbank Girozentrale and Truist Bank.

Zelestra and EDP ink solar plus storage PPA in Spain

Zelestra and EDP have inked a long term power purchase agreement (PPA) in Spain. The agreement combines large-scale solar and battery storage projects and technologies. Under the agreement, Zelestra will build a project consisting of 170 MWdc of solar capacity and 400 MWh of battery storage. The project will be located in Trujillo, Extremadura, Spain. Construction of the project will commence in the second half of 2025.

Vena Energy inks PPA with SECI for 100 MW under FDRE scheme in India

Vena Energy has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with the Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) for a 100 MW renewable energy project under the firm and despatchable renewable energy (FDRE) scheme. Gutami inks agreements for solar plus storage project in Burkina Faso

Dutch Gutami Holding BV (Gutami) along with its local development partners has inked agreements with the Government of Burkina Faso and the national utility SONABEL. A public-private partnership agreement has been inked with the Government of Burkina Faso and a power purchase agreement with SONABEL for a project that will deliver 150 MWp of solar photovoltaic power integrated with a 50 MW battery energy storage system to the national grid.

wpd inks PPA for onshore wind project in Japan

wpd, in cooperation with GPSS Group, has signed a corporate power purchase agreement (PPA) with Nomura Real Estate Development Company Limited for the Higashi Izu Furusato onshore wind power project in Japan. The project is located in Shizuoka Prefecture, around 120 km southwest of Tokyo, on a coastal mountain ridge. The wind farm will have a capacity of 7.48 MW and scheduled to begin operations in May 2026.

Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD) and DESRI have inked a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) for the Dry Creek energy storage project. The project is a 160 MW/640 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) situated in Sacramento County. SMUD and DESRI have jointly worked on the project. Imerys and Akuo have inked a power purchase agreement (PPA) for the supply of renewable electricity in US. The inked agreement will allow Akuo to construct a photovoltaic solar power plant. The solar plant will have an installed capacity of approximately 195 MW, including 57 MW dedicated to Imerys’ operations. The plant is located in Coke County, Texas, and is capable of producing 153 GWh of electricity per year.

Scatec ASA inks PPA for 900 MW onshore wind project in Egypt

Scatec ASA, through its dedicated project company, Shadwan Wind Power SAE, has inked a USD-denominated 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC). The agreement is for a 900 MW onshore wind project in Ras Shukeir, Egypt. Furthermore, the signing of the PPA will be followed by wind measurements on the site. The measurements are to be finalised in the first half of 2026.

Zelestra begins commercial operation of 300 MWdc solar project in Peru

Zelestra has commenced commercial operations at the San Martín solar plant in Perú. The solar plant has a capacity of 300 MWdc and is led by Zelestra’s internal engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) division. The solar plant comprises 450,000 modules and will generate over 830 GWh of clean energy annually. The solar project supplies clean energy to its customer, Kallpa Generación, through a long-term power purchase agreement.

Origis Energy secures financial close for the Wheatland solar project with MUFG

Origis Energy has secured the financial closing of the Wheatland solar project with MUFG. The portfolio financing package of over $530 million supports two projects of Origis Energy. Sonnedix inks 420 GWh PPA with Renfe in Spain

Sonnedix has inked a power purchase agreement (PPA) with Renfe for the purchase of 420 GWh of renewable energy per year to power its commercial operations. The solar installations used in this financial PPA will generate annual energy, which will be enough to power 112,000 homes. Invenergy commences operations of 250 MW solar project in Ohio

Invenergy has commenced operations of the Hardin III solar energy center. The project has a capacity of 250 MW and is situated in Hardin County, Ohio. WEC Energy Group is the majority owner of the solar facility. Additionally, Microsoft will purchase the electricity and renewable energy credits generated at the facility through a power purchase agreement. The solar facility is expected to generate $180 million of new investment in Hardin County.

Grenergy inks 390 GWh solar PPA in Chile

Grenergy has inked a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) with a global energy company in Chile. The agreement stipulates the sale of 390 GWh of solar energy annually through a daytime PPA. This PPA will come into effect in October 2026. The solar energy will be generated by projects being developed by Grenergy in central Chile. Furthermore, out of the total 390 GWh, 110 GWh of solar energy per year will be provided over a 15-year period.

Scatec inks PPA for 120 MW solar plant in Tunisia

Scatec has inked a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA) for a 120 MW solar power plant named Sidi Bouzid II in Tunisia. The PPA has been signed with Tunisian state utility Société Tunisienne de l’Electricité et du Gaz (STEG). Scatec also inked a joint development agreement, with Aeolus SAS which is a part of the Japanese conglomerate Toyota Tsusho Group, for the solar plant. Furthermore, the estimated total capital expenditure for the project is €87 million.

EDPR NA launches 100 MW solar park in Mississippi

EDP Renewables North America (EDPR NA) has launched the 100 MW Ragsdale Solar Park (Ragsdale) in Madison Country, Mississippi. The project became operational in the fourth quarter of  2024 and will supply power directly to Entergy Mississippi’s transmission system. This project will provide sufficient energy to power around 15,700 homes in Mississippi annually. Furthermore, Amazon has contracted for entire 100 MW capacity of the project through a 15-year power purchase agreement (PPA).

ACWA Power has inked a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC) for a 2 GW wind project in Egypt. The investment in the project is approximately $2.3 billion. The project is expected to reach financial close in 2026. Furthermore, this wind project will support the Egyptian government in increasing the share of renewable energy in its electricity generation mix to 42 per cent by 2030. It is also expected to reduce carbon emissions by over 3.5 million tonnes annually.

bp and Iberdrola begin construction of 25 MW green hydrogen plant in Spain

The joint venture (JV) between bp and Iberdrola España has commenced construction of a 25 MW green hydrogen plant in Spain. The initial phase for this plant consists of earthworks and the development of an approximately 20,000 meter square plot of land next to the bp refinery in Castellón. Civil work for the project will commence in the second quarter of 2025. The plant is expected to be operational in the second half of 2026.

BrightNight and Cordelio Power ink PPA with Arizona Public Service  

BrightNight and Cordelio Power have inked a power purchase agreement (PPA) with Arizona Public Service (APS). Under this agreement, APS will procure carbon-free energy from BrightNight and Cordelio’s clean energy center. This is a hybrid facility featuring 300 MW of solar capacity and 1,200 MWh of battery energy storage. The facility will deliver reliable, affordable, and clean electricity to APS customers, support the region’s growing energy needs, and enhance grid resilience.
