Vestas to develop offshore wind manufacturing facility in UK

Vestas Wind Systems A/S has outlined plans to establish a nacelle and hub manufacturing facility in Scotland, UK. The proposed investment exceeds €250 million and is aimed at supporting rising offshore wind demand across the UK and Europe. The facility is expected to manufacture nacelles and hubs for the V236-15.0 MW offshore wind turbine platform. Additionally, Vestas will assess opportunities to co-locate key component suppliers alongside the facility.

Equinor acquires 230 MW wind project from Vestas in Brazil

Equinor, through its subsidiary Rio Energy, has acquired the Esquina do Vento wind project from Vestas. The 230 MW project is located in the state of Rio Grande do Norte in northeast Brazil. Additionally, Equinor has entered into a wind turbine supply agreement with Vestas for the same project. As per the supply agreement, Vestas will supply 51 V163-4.5 MW turbines, with installation scheduled to commence in March 2027.

IFC finances Olavarría wind and transmission project in Argentina

The International Finance Corporation (IFC) has announced financing support for Petroquímica Comodoro Rivadavia S.A. for the development and construction of the Olavarría wind farm in the Buenos Aires province of Argentina. The total project cost is reported at $275 million. It involves the installation of 29 wind turbines supplied by Vestas, with a total installed capacity of 185.6 MW.

RWE and Vestas ink wind turbine deal for Vanguard West project in UK

Reportedly, the turbines will be serviced by the Danish corporation under a multi-year active output management 5000 agreement.
