Ameresco SUNEL Energy SA, a joint venture between Ameresco and SUNEL Group, has secured €303.4 million engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contracts for three solar projects. These projects have a combined capacity of 466 MWp and are situated in the southwestern region of Romania. The projects will replace coal-fired power generation and strengthen Romania’s commitment to phasing out coal by 2032.

Ameresco to construct 379 MWh BESS quartet in California

Ameresco, a Massachusetts-based renewable energy provider, received contracts from Avenue Capital’s Middle River Power (MRP) to design and construct four battery energy storage system (BESS) projects in California totaling 379 MWh. The four BESS projects will be co-located at gas power plants owned by MRP. The projects will get started in the summer of 2023, which are expected to be completed in the third quarter of 2024.

Ameresco and Atura to construct 250 MW battery storage system in Canada

The Canadian independent electricity system operator (IESO) has selected renewable energy company Ameresco and its partner Atura Power to build a 250MW/1,000 megawatt-hour battery energy storage system (BESS) in Ontario province.
Ameresco and Atura Power, an Ontario Power Generation affiliate, will build the project as a joint venture (JV) under the name Napanee BESS. The BESS project will be built next to Atura Power’s Napanee generating station and Ontario Power Generation’s Lennox generating station in the town of Greater Napanee.

Ameresco, Sunel bid for 1.5 GWp renewable energy projects

Ameresco, a cleantech integrator located in the US, and Sunel Group have joined forces to compete on 1.5GWp of solar photovoltaic (PV) and battery energy storage system (BESS) projects in the UK and Europe. The projects, which span Greece, Italy, Spain, Romania, and the UK, are currently in the bidding stage and are expected to have contract values that exceed $500 million. The BESS facilities will also provide grid stabilisation services to increase the grid’s resilience while the PV projects will produce clean energy.

Cero to develop solar project with Ameresco and Sunel in Greece

For a 100 MW solar photovoltaic (PV) project in Greece, the UK-based solar energy developer Cero Generation has selected Ameresco Energy Hellas and Sunel Group as its partners. Greece’s Prosotsani Drama region will be responsible for the construction of the Delfini solar PV project. According to reports, it is the first solar project in the country to use a power purchase agreement and not receive any form of government subsidy on electricity expenses.
