Aeris Energy, a Brazilian wind blades manufacturer has signed a contract to supply blades for 2 GW of turbines to a unit of Germany’s Nordex SE. The deal was signed with Energy SE and Co KG and is effective until end-2023, representing a total value of $302 million. According to the statement, the agreement will convert two of its blades production lines to fit wind turbines with a power of more than 5 MW and also install a new manufacturing line for this same blade model.
Nordex SE has installed more than 33 GW of wind energy capacity in over 40 markets and in 2020 generated revenues of EUR 4.6 billion. The firm now employs around 8,500 people. Germany, Spain, Brazil, the United States, India, and Mexico are among the countries with joint production capabilities. The product portfolio is focused on onshore turbines in the 4 to 5.X MW class, which are tailor-made for the market requirements of countries with limited space and regions with limited grid capacity.
