Adani Energy Solutions Limited (AESL) has successfully commissioned the Karur transmission project for the evacuation of 2,500 MW of energy from clean sources. The project is located in Karur/Tiruppur wind energy zone of Tamil Nadu, India. The project involves the establishment of a 400/230 kV, 1,000 MVA pooling station and a corresponding transmission line that covers a distance of 8.51 circuit kms.
In addition to strengthening the southern regional grid and promoting the large-scale integration of renewable energy sources, the project will enhance industrial, commercial, and residential consumers’ access to clean, reliable electricity.
In December 2021, AESL won the project under the tariff-based competitive bidding route for a period of 35 years. The project will be developed on the basis of a build, own, operate model.
