Alight has acquired a portfolio of 40 large-scale solar projects in southern Sweden from Soltech Energy Solutions. The acquired portfolio has a cumulative planned solar capacity of around 2 GW. Most of the projects also have options for co-located battery storage. The projects are located across Sweden’s SE3 and SE4 electricity price areas. The transaction has been completed following approval from the Inspectorate of Strategic Products.
Furthermore, Alight will continue developing the projects through the permitting and grid connection processes until they reach the ready-to-build stage. The projects will be developed for long-term power purchase agreements, under which Alight will build, own, and operate the solar parks and sell the electricity to commercial and industrial customers at a fixed long-term price. With the acquisition, Alight’s solar and storage development pipeline in the Nordic region has increased to more than 5 GW.
Earlier, in February 2026, Alight acquired two large-scale solar projects in eastern Finland from Finnish developer 3Flash, adding more than 200 MW of planned solar capacity along with an associated battery energy storage system. The two projects, with planned capacities of approximately 75 MW and 150 MW, are situated in a region characterised by comparatively lower local power generation and reduced grid congestion relative to other parts of the country.
