Arevon Energy, Inc. has commenced construction of the 250 MW/1,000 MWh Cormorant energy storage project in Daly City, California. The project involves an investment of approximately $600 million. The company will own and operate the project, which is scheduled to become operational in 2027. Once completed, it is expected to supply electricity to around 321,000 homes for up to four hours.
The project has secured a long-term offtake agreement with MCE. It was initially planned with a capacity of 188 MW/752 MWh, but was subsequently expanded to 250 MW/1,000 MWh. The additional capacity is also covered under a long-term agreement with MCE. Furthermore, the project will deploy lithium iron phosphate battery technology to enable storage operations. Moreover, Primoris Services Corporation’s Renewables division is the engineering, procurement, and construction contractor for the project.
In March 2026, Arevon Energy, Inc. commenced operations at the 430 MWdc Kelso solar project located in Scott county, Missouri. The company developed and constructed the project and will also own and operate it. It has been developed in two phases, and represents an investment of more than $500 million.
