BNZ has signed agreements to supply 1,600 GWh of renewable energy to major steel and iron companies in Italy. The clean power supplied under the agreement will be equivalent to the annual electricity consumption of around 600,000 homes and is also expected to offset 528,000 tonnes of carbon emissions. The agreements were signed under Italy’s “Energy Release 2.0” scheme managed by Gestore dei Servizi Energetici. Under the scheme, energy-intensive industries can procure renewable electricity at a fixed price of €65 per MWh for three years.

In March 2026, BNZ signed two five-year power purchase agreements (PPAs) with major French and German energy companies for its Alamak and Alya solar plants in Cádiz, Spain. The Alamak and Alya facilities have capacities of 24.1 MW and 47.7 MW respectively, totaling 71.8 MW. Together, the projects will commercialize around 150 GWh of renewable electricity annually.

In November 2025, BNZ inaugurated the Ventura, Terrera, and Hornosol solar plants in Almería, Spain. The three solar plants have a combined installed capacity of 150 MW. The plants are also expected to offset approximately 48,873 tonnes of carbon emissions annually.
