BrightNight along with its joint venture partner Cordelio Power have completed financial close for the Greenwater energy storage project. The 200 MW/800 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) project, located in Pierce County, Washington, will supply firm capacity and grid support to Puget Sound Energy. The project has secured financing of nearly $400 million from a group of banks comprising Royal Bank of Canada, Credit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank, CoBank, ACB, National Bank of Canada, Fédération des caisses Desjardins du Québec, and Zions Bancorporation, N.A.

The financing has allowed the project to move into full-scale development execution. Moreover, the BESS project will use lithium-ion technology and will connect to the grid through a short tie line to the existing White River substation. It has been structured to deliver dependable and flexible capacity to reinforce system stability and facilitate renewable energy integration. Construction and commissioning for the project are planned to meet the targeted commercial operation date in 2026.

In November 2025, BrightNight and Cordelio Power reached financial close for the Pioneer Clean Energy Center in Yuma, Arizona. The under-construction project comprises a 300 MWac solar plant with a 300 MW/1,200 MWh BESS, with commercial operations scheduled to commence by April 2027.
