Delta Capacity has reached financial close on two standalone battery energy storage system (BESS) projects in Finland with a combined capacity of 250 MW/600 MWh. The Karppio BESS project in Teuva has a capacity of 125 MW/300 MWh and is being developed with Strioga Family Foundation, while the 125 MW/300 MWh AKKU One project in Lapinlahti is being developed with COVENERGO.

Societe Generale is providing long-term financing for both projects as the sole senior lender, with Finnvera providing a counter-guarantee for one of the financing facilities. Key supply and offtake agreements have been signed with Sungrow and Centrica Energy. Moreover, Centrica Energy has partial tolling agreements in place for both projects, while Delta Capacity is responsible for construction and long-term asset management. Commercial operations for both projects are targeted for the fourth quarter of 2027.

Earlier, in June 2026, Delta Capacity and WOOD & Company commenced commercial operations at the Ånge Storage Solutions BESS project near Ånge in central Sweden. The project has a capacity of 70 MW/160 MWh and uses a two-hour storage system. The project provides grid flexibility in Sweden’s SE2 bidding zone and supports the country’s energy transition.
