Renewable Power Capital (RPC), a UK-based energy investment firm, has signed a grid connection agreement with E.ON Energy Distribution for four wind farms in Sweden’s Sollefte and Kramfors municipalities. The agreement would deliver up to 561 MW of clean energy to regional and national systems from four wind facilities. The Sörlidberget wind farm, with a capacity of 132 MW, and the Knäsjöberget wind project, with a capacity of 92.4 MW, are two of the four wind farms included in the agreement.
The Vitberget and Storhöjden wind farms, with capacities of 171.6MW and 165MW, are also included in the agreement. When combined, these projects will generate enough clean energy to cover the needs of 182,000 homes. Both companies have agreed on the costs and schedule for connecting the four wind power projects to the grid. As per the company’s statement, construction on the site is expected to begin in 2023, with site preparation scheduled for later in 2022.
The project will include the construction of a primary transformer station in Nässe, southeast of Lngsele, in collaboration with the Swedish government. A 400 kV station will also be built by Svenska Kraftnät. From the wind farms to the Nässe station, an 80-km, 130-kV power line will be installed. E.ON will also construct three regional grid stations and an additional 6km of 30kV line in the area of the wind farms.
