EDF Renouvelables has started crowdfunding to raise funds for constructing the 14.1 MW Telegraph wind farm in Vermenton, Yonne, France. A total amount of €200,000 is planned to be raised through the crowdfunding campaign in which the local population in the region can invest from January 5 to February 15, 2021.

This crowdsourcing campaign is for all willing residents of Yonne and the neighboring regions.  EDF Renouvelables aims to partially finance the construction of the Télégraphe wind farm through this fundraising round and make the local citizens players in the region’s energy transition. This wind farm installation began in January 2020 and it is likely to come online in April 2021.

Jennifer Ménagé, Regional Manager for Bourgogne Franche-Comté, EDF Renouvelables remarked “We are pleased that crowdfunding also allows residents and residents of the region to get involved in the local development of renewable energies while benefiting from financial income from the project.”

A subsidiary of the EDF Group, EDF Renewables is a market leader in renewable energy electricity, with a portfolio of more than 12 GW gross installed capacity focused for the most part on wind (onshore and offshore) and solar PV. Mostly operating in Europe and North America, EDF Renewables continues its development in promising emerging areas such as Brazil, China, India, or South Africa, and North Africa and Gulf Cooperation Council regions. The Company is also present in other segments of the renewable energy market: marine energy, distributed energies and energy storage.
