EDP, through EDP Renewables North America, has signed a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) with Meta for the 250 MW Cypress Knee Solar project in Arkansas. The project is scheduled for completion by 2028. The agreement marks Meta’s third clean energy partnership with EDPR NA, taking the companies’ total contracted renewable energy portfolio to 545 MW in US. Furthermore, the project will support Meta’s goal of matching 100 per cent of its annual electricity consumption with renewable energy while adding new generation capacity to the grid.

In April 2026, Zelestra and EDP signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) to hybridise an operational solar plant with battery storage. As per the agreement, Zelestra will add a 160 MWh BESS to the 50 MW Pizarroso solar plant in Cáceres. The solar plant has been operational since 2023. EDP, the current offtaker for the solar plant, will use the battery storage to improve energy management and enhance system flexibility.

In January 2026, EDP Renewables North America LLC commenced commercial operations at the Riverstart Solar IV project in Indiana. Located in Randolph county, the project has an installed capacity of 150 MW. It is expected to generate electricity equivalent to the annual consumption of more than 28,800 homes and businesses in the state. The project has delivered an estimated $88.6 million in local and regional economic impact.
