The Eiffel Tower in Paris, France was illuminated with carbon-free hydrogen to raise awareness of the need for an ecological transition based on renewable energy. This interesting development, collaborated with the city council of Paris, is part of the current plan for the energy transition in France, which presents hydrogen as an opportunity for fossil fuels. This was done for a laser show during the ‘Paris de l’hydrogène’ event organised by Energy Observer. The exhibition features hydrogen as a cornerstone of the energy transition and as a means to succeed in building a low-carbon society. For this event, Air Liquide supplied hydrogen.

The hydrogen is also being used to power the exhibition village. Energy Observer is the first autonomous, zero-emission hydrogen vessel which has been developed in collaboration with the engineers from CEA-LITEN.
