Enapter AG, a German electrolyser manufacturer has secured an order for 101 electrolysers from Enoah, a Japanese fuel cell manufacturer. The electrolysers will be installed in power-to-power applications and refuelling stations. According to the company, the AEM Electrolysers EL 4.0 will be delivered in different phases, beginning at the end of the third quarter of 2023 and continuing through the first quarter of 2024.
The deal is the latest agreement between the two companies. Enapter has supplied 20 electrolysers to the Japanese partner since 2021 when their collaboration began. Furthermore, Enoah has also connected Enapter’s network of certified partners as an official integration and distribution partner in Japan.
In June 2023, the Japanese government approved a new plan to raise $107 billion in both private and public funding for the expansion of its hydrogen supply over the course of the following 15 years. In an effort to lower the country’s greenhouse gas emissions, the country revised its renewable energy plan to increase the use of hydrogen as fuel. To bridge the gap to renewables, Japan’s decarbonisation strategy includes the use of so-called clean coal alongside hydrogen and nuclear.
