Energy Vault and Astor Enerji have signed an agreement to strengthen global supply chains for battery energy storage systems (BESS) projects. The agreement includes the supply of 2 GWh of Energy Vault’s B-VAULT BESS for Astor Enerji’s four grid-connected photovoltaic projects in Romania. These BESS projects will be operated using Energy Vault’s VaultOS energy management platform to improve performance and ensure grid stability.
Additionally, as a part of the agreement, Astor Enerji will provide more than 1 GW of transformers and high-voltage equipment for Energy Vault’s BESS projects in the US, Australia, and Europe. These projects are being developed by Asset Vault, Energy Vault’s subsidiary, that specifically builds, owns and operates energy storage projects.
Earlier this month, Energy Vault signed an agreement with Consumers Energy to deliver two BESS projects in Michigan: 45 MW/180 MWh Weadock BESS project at the former John C. Weadock Power Plant site in Hampton Township, and the 30 MW/120 MWh Iosco County BESS project in Oscoda Township.
