Envision Group, a Chinese energy company, has signed a letter of intent with Impact Energy Asia Development (IEAD) to supply wind turbines for the Monsoon Wind Project in Laos. For the 600 MW project, the company intends to deliver 133 EN-171 wind turbines, each having a capacity of 4.51 MW. The project is being developed by IEAD, and once fully operational, it will generate over 1,700 GWh of green energy each year.

Reportedly, the Monsoon Wind Project is anticipated to start construction in 2022, with the wind farm expected to start commercial production in 2025. Further, the project will be the largest wind farm in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations region once completed. Monsoon Wind will generate power that will be transported to central Vietnam via a specialised 500 kV transmission line.

IEAD is also involved in the development of the Xekong Wind Project, which is next to the Monsoon Wind Project. In 2021, the company signed a 25-year power purchase agreement with Vietnamese state-owned energy firm Vietnam Electricity. On the other hand, Envision Group is a green technology company that produces wind turbines, smart storage systems, and energy management software. Envision has a global footprint in China, France, Mexico, Vietnam, Argentina, Montenegro, Kazakhstan and other countries and regions all over the world.
