Equinor, a Norwegian energy company, has agreed to buy BeGreen, a Bregentved Group solar project developer, for an undisclosed fee. BeGreen has more than 6 GW of capacity in Denmark, Sweden, and Poland, which is in the early to medium stages of development. With this acquisition, Equinor aims to expand its portfolio and set of skills in the solar photovoltaic (PV) industry. Completion of the deal is subject to relevant regulatory approvals. BeGreen will be owned by an Equinor subsidiary after the deal is completed. Its current management and team will keep creating solar PV projects. Danske Commodities, a division of Equinor, will market the clean energy produced by the BeGreen portfolio.

Equinor purchased a 45 per cent ownership stake in the UK-based Noriker Power in December 2022.
