ERG, through its subsidiary ERG Power Generation, has entered into three power purchase agreements (PPAs) with FS Group’s subsidiary, the railway infrastructure operator Rete Ferroviaria Italiana (RFI), for the supply of 1.2 TWh of renewable energy (185 GWh annually). Supply is scheduled to begin on October 1, 2025. The power will be sourced from ERG’s wind farms located in Italy that are not part of the incentive system.
The agreements were concluded following ERG’s award of three out of five lots offered in the first public tender in Italy for electricity procurement and Guarantees of Origin through PPA. One PPA involves the supply of 55 GWh annually for a 10-year period. The other two PPAs are 5-years long, and cover the supply 60 GWh per year and 70 GWh per year, respectively.
In August 2025, Italy launched a €15.9 million solar tender through Pavia Acque Scarl for the design, construction, and project financing management of solar photovoltaic systems, including renewable self-consumption setups, with an 8-year concession period. The deadline for bid submission is October 6, 2025
