Evren, a renewable energy platform established by Brookfield in India, has secured a $100 million investment from ALTÉRRA, Brookfield Asset Management, and other investors. The funding will support the development and construction of up to 11 GW of solar, wind, and battery storage projects across Rajasthan and Andhra Pradesh in India.

ALTÉRRA is a private climate investment vehicle and is also BGTF II’s largest third-party investor with a $2 billion commitment made during COP28. Reportedly, the investment was made through the ALTÉRRA Acceleration Fund and aims to strengthen India’s clean energy infrastructure in high-potential regions. This is ALTÉRRA’s first direct investment into the Global South.

Evren is one of the most recent investments from Brookfield’s Global Transition Fund II (“BGTF II”). In April 2025, Evren signed a power purchase agreement with NTPC Limited to supply 300 MW of firm and dispatchable renewable energy through a hybrid mix of solar, wind, and battery storage systems.

REGlobal’s Views: Evren has an initial target to build over 6 GW of renewable energy assets in the next 2-3 years in India. This recent financing from ALTÉRRA will help the company reach its targets as planned, and also help in the development of the future pipeline.
