Fluence Energy and Torch Clean Energy have announced a partnership for the Winchester solar-plus-storage project in Cochise County, Arizona. The project, being developed by Torch Clean Energy, will use Fluence’s Gridstack Pro 5000 energy storage system. The project will feature two identical battery energy storage systems (BESS) providing a combined capacity of 160 MW/640 MWh, alongside two 80 MW solar projects.

Deliveries for the BESSs are scheduled for early 2027. Once operational, the project will help balance grid demand and contribute to local economic and infrastructure development.  Additionally, the Gridstack Pro 5000 systems will use domestically manufactured enclosures, inverters, and thermal management systems, allowing the project to qualify for domestic content tax credits.

In September 2025, DRI, the renewables arm of Ukraine’s DTEK Group, selected Fluence Energy B.V., a subsidiary of Fluence Energy, to supply BESS for its 133 MW Trzebinia project in southern Poland. The project will utilise Fluence’s Smartstack platform with advanced cybersecurity features to enhance grid protection.
