Greenvolt Group, through Greenvolt Power, has agreed to sell two standalone battery energy storage system (BESS) projects in Poland to A&R Investments. The projects are located in Ełk and Turośń Kościelna in north-eastern Poland, and have a total installed capacity of 400 MW/1,600 MWh. Both projects were completed in the third quarter of 2026 and have received the required permits for use. The transaction is expected to close by the end of 2026, subject to the fulfillment of the applicable conditions.
Furthermore, both Ełk and Turośń have secured 17-year capacity market contracts starting in 2028. Under these contracts, each project will receive a fixed payment for making 85 per cent of its capacity available to the system. The projects are also covered by 10-year tolling agreements, under which the batteries will be optimised and their flexibility traded in the power markets.
Earlier, in October 2026, Greenvolt Power raised € 284 million in project financing for its 253.1 MW wind project in Gurbănești, located east of Bucharest, Romania. The project is currently under construction and is expected to begin commercial operations by the end of 2027.
