GridStor has closed a $220 million financing agreement for the development of the White Tank battery energy storage system (BESS) in Maricopa County, Arizona. The project has an installed capacity of 100 MW/400 MWh. The project financing comprises tax equity bridge, construction and term debt with participation from ING Capital, KeyBank and Zions Capital Markets. Furthermore, the project will operate under a 20-year tolling agreement with Arizona Public Service and is expected to be commissioned in the first half of 2027.
In May 2026, GridStor acquired the Birdseye BESS located in Adams County, Colorado from Accelergen. The project has an installed capacity of 199 MW/796 MWh. Project construction is expected to commence as early as 2027, with commercial operations targeted for the end of 2028. The project is expected to create around 115 full-time jobs during construction and serve over 150,000 households during peak demand.
In April 2026, GridStor and Axpo signed an energy storage agreement for the 220 MW/440 MWh Hidden Lakes BESS in Galveston County, Texas. The project has an installed capacity of 220 MW/440 MWh and commenced operations in the fourth quarter of 2025. The agreement enables Axpo to provide greater price predictability to Houston retail customers.
