H2APEX Nova Holding GmbH, a subsidiary of H2APEX Group SCA, and the East Energy Group have established a joint venture (JV) named Hanseatic H2 to develop decentralised green hydrogen projects in Germany. The partnership plans to build four standardised electrolysis plants, each with a capacity of 5 MW, at locations across Northern and Eastern Germany. The projects will produce RFNBO-compliant hydrogen, with joint marketing efforts focused primarily on regional mobility customers.
Furthermore, the JV is designed to expand H2APEX’s project portfolio by adding smaller-scale hydrogen facilities alongside its existing large-scale developments. H2APEX is already advancing a 100 MW electrolysis project in Lubmin under an IPCEI framework and will contribute technical expertise in hydrogen plant construction and operations. Additionally, East Energy Group brings experience in renewable energy project development.
The companies plan to rely on repeatable technical standards to streamline planning and construction, reduce costs, and allow future projects to be scaled more efficiently, while also simplifying long-term operation and maintenance. Furthermore, the next steps would include setting up the joint project company and commence project development activities.
