JinkoSolar Holding Corporation Limited has won a tender for up to 1.85 GW of high efficiency solar modules from China Petroleum Engineering and Construction Corporation (CPECC), a China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) affiliated company specialising in project engineering and construction. This is CNPC’s largest-ever solar module purchase. The modules will have N-type TOPCon technology and are expected to arrive in China in 2022 to support CNPC’s solar expansion plans.
In September 2021, Jinko Solar Limited decided to invest $500 million in Vietnam’s Qung Ninh Province to establish a monocrystalline ingot and wafer production facility. The project is expected to have a 7 GW annual capacity. This was the first PV project launched in the Qung Yên Coastal Economic Zone of Qung Ninh Province. This project obtained local government clearance in early 2021 and is scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2022.
