Kruger Energy has begun construction of the 196 MW Saint-Paul-de-Montminy wind farm located within the municipalities of Saint-Paul-de-Montminy, Notre-Dame-du-Rosaire and Sainte-Apolline-de-Patton in Quebec. The project involves an investment exceeding $580 million. The project is expected to be commissioned by December 2027 and has secured all required approvals. The project is being developed in partnership with Alliance de l’énergie de l’Est and Potentia Renewables, bringing the company’s total wind investments in Canada to $1.5 billion.
In Quebec, Kruger Energy operates the 101.2 MW Montérégie Wind Farm which was commissioned in 2012 along with the 24 MW Des Cultures Wind Farm which has been operational since 2022. In Ontario, the company operates two wind farms which were commissioned between 2008 and 2011. Together, these Ontario projects have a combined capacity of more than 200 MW.
In March 2026, the 274 MW Madawaska wind project in Quebec reached financial close, enabling the start of construction. The project is being developed by EDF power solutions Canada, Alliance de l’énergie de l’Est, and Société de gestion éolienne de la Madawaska Inc. Financing has been arranged through a consortium comprising Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, National Bank of Canada, Desjardins Group, and KfW IPEX-Bank.
