Linea Energy has closed project debt financing and secured a preferred equity commitment for the 250 MW/500 MWh Mesa View standalone battery energy storage system (BESS) in Upton County, Texas. The debt financing includes a construction-to-term loan, a tax equity bridge loan and a letter of credit facility. Furthermore, D.E. Shaw Renewable Investments provided the preferred equity commitment.
The project is expected to begin commercial operations in 2027. Once operational, the project will provide 250 MW of dispatchable capacity to the Electric Reliability Council of Texas market. Norddeutsche Landesbank Girozentrale acted as the coordinating lead arranger, with Texas Capital participating as a syndicate lender.
Earlier, in July 2026, Linea Energy closed a tax equity financing with Crux for its 172 MWdc Watertown solar project located in Sanilac County, Michigan. The Crux investment completes the project’s financing, bringing the total capital raised to $457 million, including a previously announced $299 million debt package by Santander Corporate & Investment Banking, Société Générale, S.A., Norddeutsche Landesbank Girozentralecon, and Truist Bank.
