Mainstream Renewable Power has announced that it has received commercial operations date (COD) certification for the Ckhúri Wind Farm from the National Electricity Coordinator. The project is located in Calama in the Antofagasta Region, Chile. The project has an installed capacity of 109.2 MW and comprises 26 Vestas turbines.
Furthermore, the project is expected to supply clean energy sufficient to power approximately 166,000 Chilean homes. The project forms a part of the Huemul Energía platform. Together with the Condor Energía platform, Mainstream’s renewable portfolio now totals 1.22 GW of capacity in Chile.
In August 2025, Damlaagte Photovoltaic (PV) facility owned by Mainstream Renewable Power, uBuzwe Energy and the Thembelihe Trust commenced commercial operations, beginning a 20-year operational period from August 2025. The 97.5 MW facility, located near Parys in Free State province, South Africa, is expected to generate around 270 million kWh of clean electricity in its first year.
