Meta Platforms and CleanMax Enviro Energy Solutions Limited have joined forces for around 900 MW of renewable energy capacity in India. As part of the collaboration, the two companies will support the development of 837 MW of new solar and wind power projects in Rajasthan and Karnataka, India.
According to the agreement, CleanMax will develop and operate the new renewable energy projects, while Meta will purchase 100 per cent of the environmental attributes generated by them. The projects are expected to support Meta’s clean energy goals and help reduce value chain emissions in the region. Furthermore, when combined with previously announced projects, the partnership has surpassed 900 MW of capacity.
In May 2026, EDP, through EDP Renewables North America, signed a long-term power PPA with Meta for the 250 MW Cypress Knee Solar project in Arkansas. The project is scheduled for completion by 2028. Furthermore, the project will support Meta’s goal of matching 100 per cent of its annual electricity consumption with renewable energy while adding new generation capacity to the grid.
